Working alongside the Production Lead Operators, the UK Operations Production Support & Planning Lead will support OE UK by organizing production according to demand and quality standards. This role is key to ensuring our goods are shipped on time and meet our customer\xe2\x80\x99s needs. An excellent production planner is proficient in production procedures. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Advanced communication and computer skills are very useful for the role. Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Scheduling of work with the aim to sustain 98% on time deliveries.
  • Lead and execute the fast-track process for bringing in additional capacity in month and ensure correct planning and paperwork execution are completed and delivered across multiple functions within operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of order status, delivery dates, and other relevant information.
  • Schedule and release jobs ahead of each month to allow jobs to be processed into kitting.
  • Check job requests for key information to ensure we are capturing issues before they enter production.
  • Bill Of Material and Bill of Operations analysis to feed back to the engineering team with issues impacting job scheduling and execution.
  • Improving the process to ensure cost-effective production & analyze customer production plans to ensure their plans are met.
  • Work alongside the process engineers to ensure production process are streamlined and efficient to support best in class production activity.
  • Work with Supply to ensure all materials internal and external are available to coordinate production workflow.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to establish manning requirements, planning out shifts where manning is not available and requesting shift cover if this is going to affect the production plan and customer deliveries (including additional weekend overtime shifts).
  • Attend the daily production meeting to discuss previous 24hrs performance and discuss next 24hrs, highlighting any critical deliveries, also discuss trials or customer passes for the day, any material issues that can affect the plan and planned maintenance.
  • React to daily plan changes due to supply from both internal and external parties, keeping all departments up to date at all times in order to react to changes.
  • Provide inputs into the quote and order entry team to allow customers to be notified of any issues impacting the delivery schedule.
  • Working with engineering maintenance to plan in weekly maintenance periods to ensure continuous improvement plans.
  • Monitor supply flow and identify any shortages to defroster crews or bottlenecks causing production to stop, ideally operating within an agreed window for the next process.
  • Ensure correct cost of sales have flown on all jobs (material and labor) so that accurate costs are captured to support margin discussions with sales and finance.
  • Job closing before each month end to ensure financial costs are posted correctly and material has been booked to the job.

Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Experience in Planning ERP systems, including diagnostics, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Background in Production Planning within a manufacturing context.
  • Effective communication skills with both management teams and external partners.
  • Lean methodology familiarity, including practical knowledge of Kanban.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and effective prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture and influence decisions through data
  • Effective presentation skills

Education / Certification:

  • Experience in production planning within a manufacturing or logistics environment
