Job Overview


As a

Production Team Leader

at Morgan, you will oversee a team of production line workers, ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met. This role demands strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of automotive manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities



Health and Safety:



Enforce strict adherence to Health and Safety Ensure all colleagues in your areas are wearing the correct PPE Ensure that the risk assessments for your areas are up to date, keep under review and assess the needed changes Advocate safe working practices - always Ensure all colleagues are attending their OH referrals, and supporting the implementation of any reasonable adjustments Implement and maintain usage of the Health and Safety protocols e.g. 5's

Production Oversight:



Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the production line, minimising downtime and optimising output to achieve the weekly build plan in accordance with set KPI's. Monitor production schedules and adjust resources as needed to meet deadlines and manage workloads. Coordinate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure the availability of materials and components.

Continuous Improvement:



Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall team performance. Collaborate with the Head of Production and engineering teams to identify process improvements and implement lean manufacturing principles. Provide feedback on equipment performance and suggest enhancements for better productivity. Get feedback from colleagues of the shop floor to better understand and shape feedback Look for 'bottle necks' within your areas and come up with robust plans to minimise

Quality control



Implement and uphold quality standards in line with company and industry specifications. Conduct regular inspections and audits of work to ensure that vehicles or parts meet the required specifications. Address and resolve any quality issues or defects promptly and report them to the quality team. Work with the quality team to build up a quality improvement culture and support the reduction of PDI failures

Leadership & Team Management:



Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of production workers to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on skills, ensuring smooth operations on the production line. Ensure effective communication across all your areas so that everyone is well informed of the expectations of their roles Review individual skills and cross skill all colleagues to build business continuity Look for training and development opportunities of your teams Undertake quality performance development review and use the information to shape appropriate CPD opportunities.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications



Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role ideal. Strong understanding of automotive production processes, equipment, and materials. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or Kaizen is highly preferred. Proficient in using production management software and tools. Ability to work in a fast paced environment Occasional overtime may be necessary to meet production deadlines

Pay: 42,000.00 per year
