Job Overview
With a few years of production supervisory experience under your belt you will be assisting the Production Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the day -to- day operations of your area in order to fulfil business/department needs and target's, maintaining product safety and quality standards. This role ensures that customer requirements and expectations are achieved in line with product specifications.
Duties
Working with the operatives in the area and leading the Line leaders to ensure production throughputs and correct labour standards are always achieved and in line with Operational KPIs
Managing Labour and overtime budgets to achieve weekly targets and KPIs.
Coaching and Developing the line leaders in your area, identifying talent and succession planning for key roles.
Effectively managing the production team through clear communication, motivating colleagues and assigning tasks that contribute to the smooth running of the area.
Forward thinking, developing a Continuous Improvement culture within the department, embracing change while constructively challenging the norm.
Ensuring collaboration with all departments, creating the right environment where every voice matters and Teamwork alongside clear communication is central to the day-to-day operation of the department.
Conduct Development/Performance conversations with Team members and hold regular 1-2-1s , ensuring succession plans are in place for developing talent in your area.
To ensure that all people aspects of absence and performance are managed and escalated to Production Manager when support is needed.
Co-ordinates and is responsible for ensuring compliance & effectiveness of the 2 hourly meetings ensuring RCA is applied as appropriate and key actions are escalated in a timely manner.
Carries out investigations on shift regarding:- Performance/people/quality/safety/environmental matters when an incident occurs within their area or as required to support the broader team.
Respond effectively to critical issues, e.g. breakdowns, unplanned stops, emergency evacuations
Ensure that each product specification is followed, and any anomalies are reported immediately.
To ensure that any production targets that are set by the Production Manager are met: or if this is not possible, shortfalls are reported to the relevant person in a timely manner
To maintain a clean and tidy production area, meeting both safety and hygiene regulations of the site.
