The Production Department is focussed on the efficient manufacture and on time delivery of products to meet both Internal and External customer needs. The Department is consistently striving to work to best practice and lean methodologies.
Job Purpose
The Production Team Leader is required to drive the performance of their respective Work Centre's ensuring that daily schedules and priorities are met and that fully compliant products are manufactured on time and in full to meet both internal and external customer requirements.
The Production Team Leader is expected to remain as 'hands on' resource within the department.
It is critical that the job holder leads by example and conveys the importance of achieving OTIF and Right First Time targets.
Staff development and involvement is fully encouraged to create a skilled, flexible and motivated workforce.
The job holder should be uncomfortable with accepting substandard processes and performance. A desire and aptitude for developing and coaching others is crucial to ensure the capability of the department is enhanced and taken to higher levels of performance.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure that all activities are carried out to meet strict HSE standards and quality system requirements. All incidents to be promptly reported to the Workshop Manager.
2. Attend weekly/daily Tier meetings to agree priorities to drive production and meet daily OTIF requirements. Report on progress and raise local issues for actioning.
3. Maintain optimised stock levels for production parts and PPE activities within the designated work bays bay to avoid down time replenishing stocks.
4. Proactively develop a 'Right First Time' attitude with your team and support NCR investigations and necessary improvements/changes.
5. Ensure that high standards of 5S and housekeeping are sustained within the area by the team, and that the area is fit for visitors at all times.
6. Proactively communicate issues, errors and improvement ideas with product drawings.
To carry out any reasonable requested task to support the goals of the business.
