Production Technician - Mechanical

Pertemps Bristol is recruiting for mechanical production technicians to work within a thriving plasma technology business in Yatton, near Bristol. This is a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a strong teamwork culture where you will be building precision equipment that is used at the forefront of scientific research and development.

• \xc2\xa328,000 plus shift allowances [10% of basic for morning and 25% for afternoon shifts] - works out to \xc2\xa332,900 per annum basic
• Monday - Friday, early / afternoon shifts rotate weekly

About the job

• Work on the assembly build of high-tech, cutting edge products
• Build systems, sub-assemblies and piece parts for complex systems
• Ensure that the requirements of the BOM and the customer specification are achieved
• Identify and resolve build problems
• Report technical issues and record using the FRACAS process
• Detail fitting skills to precision level, including machining (typically milling and turning), vacuum and pneumatics and pipe bending with stainless steel, \xc2\xbc" to \xc2\xbd"
• Train and guide less experienced technicians

The right candidate

• Time served Mechanical apprenticeship or City and Guilds part 3, or HND, HNC, or BTech level 3
• Ability to read mechanical drawings
• Ability to fault find and implement corrective action
• Precision fitting and pipe bending skills
• A good working knowledge of Swagelok
• PC skills
• Good communication skills
