Production Technician

.

This role is perfect for someone with hands-on knowledge of surface mount technology (SMT) machines, such as Pick and Place systems. You'll thrive if you enjoy varied, hands-on technical work in a supportive, small-team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain SMT machines (Pick and Place) for efficient, high-quality PCB assembly Perform hand soldering and assembly of through-hole and surface mount components Carry out inspection, testing, and rework to ensure products meet quality standards Read and interpret technical drawings and circuit diagrams (training provided if needed) Work to IPC standards and internal quality procedures to ensure consistently high results Support continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and quality Maintain accurate production records and follow established workflows Collaborate closely within a small, focused production team

Skills & Experience We're Looking For

Knowledge and practical experience with SMT/Pick and Place machines Good soldering skills (both through-hole and surface mount) Familiarity with electronics manufacturing processes and equipment Understanding of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions and safe handling of components Ability to use basic hand tools, test equipment, and microscopes for fine-pitch work Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills Computer literacy for machine programming, data entry, and documentation High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work Previous experience in a fast-paced, production-based environment IPC certification or familiarity with IPC standards (advantageous) A flexible, proactive approach and willingness to learn new techniques
