Location: Various production locations across Northern Ireland
Salary: 12.60 per hour (Real Living Wage)
Contract: Fixed-term training placements (non-continuous)
Hours: 40 hours per week(Prep/wrap weeks)/ 60 hours a week(shoot weeks)

Are you passionate about film and television and curious about how things are made behind the scenes? The Creative Industries New Entrants (CINE) Programme offers an exciting opportunity to gain real-world experience and start your career in the screen industry.
Funded by the Department for Communities and delivered in partnership with BBC Northern Ireland, the CINE Programme aims to open access to the screen industries to people who are currently underrepresented.
To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must be aged 18 or over and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Be from an ethnic minority background
  • Have a disability
  • Be from a lower socio-economic background
As a Production Trainee you'll be placed on professional productions across Northern Ireland, including drama, feature films, and large-scale TV. You'll support the daily operations of the production office and assist with a variety of tasks essential to keeping things running smoothly.
No previous professional experience is required, just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
Before starting your first placement, you'll take part in up to four weeks of hands-on training, delivered by industry professionals. This will cover key topics such as:
  • Health & safety on set
  • Sustainability
  • Set etiquette
  • Introduction to the production department by an experienced industry mentor
Key responsibilities:
  • General Office admin (e.g. photocopying, filing, organising paperwork)
  • Answering phones and taking messages
  • Distributing scripts, call sheets, schedules
  • Running items to and from set
  • Supporting hospitality (e.g. tea/coffee runs, lunch orders)
Essential Criteria:
  • A genuine interest in film/TV and behind-the-scenes work
  • Reliability, punctuality, and good communication
  • Willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work in changing environments and locations
  • The right to work in the UK
Desirable Criteria (not essential to apply):
  • A full UK driving licence and access to transport
  • Experience staying organised - using notebooks, apps or other systems
  • An interest in developing a long-term career in film and TV
