Job Overview


Our client is seeking a Production/Operations/Design Engineer role to cover a range of activities across the business . The role requires a broad skill set with the main focus on operations activities. Project management skills, the use of CAD, prototyping, testing and the application of engineering analytical problem-solving tools will be needed to create and introduce solutions for manufacturing and provide the link between Operations and Engineering/Sales for customer requirements on both new and existing product quality issues. National and/or international travel may be necessary for this role.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

:

To be the focus, and take responsibility, for integrating design solutions into production.

Design new systems and processes and provide facilities & methods to ensure the cost-effective integration of new products or for the improvement of existing ones into production.

For new product introduction, ensure all product and system requirements are considered from the initial product conception to the finished result.

Assist with shop floor layout and cell designs and general process improvements.

Design fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks and strive to improve existing ones.

Ensure product and process quality meets specifications required.

Support continuous improvement, problem solving and process improvement activities.

Investigate production and process issues providing technical support and training as required.

Provide first-line technical support to the production team and quality including tooling design and work processes to help them optimise their throughput and quality.

Maintenance, repair, problem diagnosis and breakdown support.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:



Engineering/Design Discipline Degree or "Time-Served" equivalent is essential.

Good practical understanding and application of engineering is essential.

Confident with hands on as well as the theoretical elements of engineering.

Competent in the use of the Microsoft office suite of software is essential.

Proven track record in systems design and realisation is essential.

Solid practical understanding and application of electronics and PLC devices is essential.

Competent in the use of Solid Edge or equivalent 3D CAD is highly desirable.

Competence with hydraulic and or pneumatic systems is highly desirable.

Experience with/exposure to BOM creation and manipulation is desirable.

Experience of hands-on product testing is desirable.

Competent in the use of AutoCAD is advantageous but not essential

Competent in the use of Winman is advantageous but not essential

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 40,000.00 per year
