Job Description

More About The Role

We're looking for an enthusiastic, strategic, and results driven individual to lead the implementation of productivity improvements, with a core focus on Labour Planning, across our entire retail network, covering both Convenience and Superstores. This is a pivotal role where you will be instrumental in defining the strategy, ensuring a smooth transition, and driving the successful adoption of new projects designed to significantly enhance store performance, optimise labour spend, save time, and improve the customer experience across all our retail formats.

You will be expected to operate at a strategic level, setting the direction for implementation and utilising your comprehensive retail expertise and leadership to deliver meaningful, sustained change directly into our stores. You will oversee the introduction of complex projects, analyse feedback trends, and direct resolution of systemic issues on the ground.

As the Manager responsible for productivity implementation, particularly Labour Planning, you will take strategic ownership for the successful, smooth, and rapid delivery of all relevant projects across our entire estate. You'll be responsible for:

Defining and owning the overarching implementation strategy for productivity and labour planning improvements, ensuring minimal disruption to operational flow across diverse store formats (Convenience and Supermarkets). Directing the creation and execution of timely, effective, and clear communication plans that are tailored to the unique operational demands and staff structures of both smaller and larger format retail environments. Overseeing and ensuring alignment of implementation schedules to minimise the impact on essential store tasks, delivery schedules, and peak trading times in all retail contexts, managing potential conflicts. Building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships and high engagement with Senior Stakeholders, Regional Managers, and Store Managers across the estate while leading the deployment of initiatives. Managing the reporting suite, providing strategic progress tracking updates, and communicating implementation status, risks, and mitigations to Executive stakeholders. Proactively identifying, analysing, and directing the actioning of systemic issues or risks specific to complex project delivery across the varied store portfolio, ensuring scalable solutions. Accountable for the creation, sign off, and delivery of the full implementation plan, ensuring all benefits are realised against agreed time, cost, and quality parameters, with a critical focus on achieving measurable labour efficiency and cost savings.
