Humber Local Pharmaceutical Committee (LPC)known as Community Pharmacy Humber is the local voice of Community Pharmacy contractors within its Health & Wellbeing Board areas.
The LPC is an elected body recognised and specifically referred to in NHS legislation, set up to represent the interests of all local NHS Pharmacy Contractors.
Humber LPC represents contractors within the four Humber Health and Wellbeing Board areas: East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Hull City Council, North Lincolnshire Council and North East Lincolnshire Council.
The LPC is here to represent, help and advise pharmacy contractors on all NHS matters and to improve pharmaceutical services to the local populations. Their primary aim is to accurately reflect and put forward the professional views and aspirations of all pharmacists engaged in community pharmacy that provide NHS pharmaceutical services in this area.
We are seeking a Pharmacy Services and Support Officer Support the CPH Director of Services with development, implementation and management of pharmacy services and provision of pharmacy contractor support services for delivery across East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull, North East Lincolnshire & North Lincolnshire community pharmacies in line with the LPC strategic plan..
Main Responsibilities
To assist the LPC in developing effective, relevant community pharmacy services for delivery within community pharmacies in line with the LPC work plan and LPC strategic plan.
To lead / advise on the implementation of evidence-based community pharmacy practice/services across the Humber LPC area meeting requirements of any commissioner in accordance with NICE or other applicable guidelines.
To lead on the creation and development of PharmOutcomes data platforms with commissioners to support local service delivery.
Maximise contractor income through service delivery analysis and recommendations.
Secure additional income/ funding opportunities to support and deliver the LPC workplan and strategy.
To ensure engagement with pharmacy contractors and provide support when needed on Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) and other matters.
Maintain a high profile for the LPC.
To deputise for the LPC Chief Officer within an agreed framework.
Qualifications and experience
Hold a BScPharm or MPharm qualification.
Minimum of 5 years post registration
Experience of working in Community Pharmacy.
Clinical awareness and confidence to include PGD development work and representation in clinical settings.
The ideal candidate would be a qualified pharmacist with a good understanding of the current Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF), a knowledge of NHS structures, commissioning processes and functional hierarchy. IT literate with the ability to analyse data and identify trends and appropriate actions. Someone who can work well alone, or as part of a team, and is keen to see improvements across the sector. Negotiation skills and knowledge of the commissioning process are an advantage.
