This is a casual post, and the individual would be required to work ad-hoc with advance notice.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a professional governance clerk. The individual play a crucial role in supporting the governance and operational functions in respect of permanent exclusions and complaint committees, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, timelines and best practice.
The Opportunity
Liaise with trust and academy staff to facilitate meetings to fit the purpose and to meet statutory obligations.
Schedule meetings in line with statutory timeframes and notify all parties of arrangements; ensuring compliance is maintained if rescheduling is required.
Ensure all parties have access to agenda and other meeting papers in line with statutory timeframes.
Prepare a draft outcome letter and work with the Chair to ensure panel discussion and decision is accurately captured and appropriately communicated to all parties.
Maintain a secure record of confidential data which is compliant with the GDPR.
The ideal candidate
Good educational background including GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
Clerking experience including preparation of meeting agendas, papers and minutes within time constraints
Experience of working within the educational system.
Working knowledge of a range of software packages including the production of minutes.
Knowledge of the law as it relates to school governance and the roles and responsibilities of permanent exclusion process
