Job Description

The Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA) Lead Nurse is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who is passionate about facilitating supervision, training and supporting the health and wellbeing of their nursing colleagues. The aim is for every Registered Nurse to have access to Restorative Clinical Supervision from a Professional Nurse Advocate or Clinical Supervisor (CS).



The post holder will work alongside the nurse managers in Primary Care, Community Services, and Complex and Long Term Care to lead the strategic direction in respect of continuing to embed Restorative Clinical Supervision. This includes leading and coordinating the activities of the PNA/CS's through facilitation of a peer support group.



The post holder will be a role model and ambassador to promote the wellbeing and empowerment of nursing staff and support them to deliver a high quality of patient care and quality improvement initiatives in the workplace, inspiring a culture of improved patient safety and patient experience.



You will be a visible leader, providing assurance to the heads of nursing that staff support and Restorative Clinical Supervision is being offered and delivered across the nursing services.



You will lead Restorative Clinical Supervision for all nurses in the Division, to support nurses to identify their own personal action for career development and quality improvement, exploring their understanding of personal and professional resilience.



The post holder will develop and foster effective working relationships across a broad range of teams, services and agencies and will ensure that the Health Boards values, views, policies and procedures are advocated and are represented at all times.



The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

As a key part of the Chief Nursing Officer for Wales priorities the development of the Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA) role aims to

equip nurses with the skills and knowledge to deliver restorative clinical supervision to their colleagues and teams across the NHS; lead

quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care; and contribute to positive cultures of learning. Providing clinical learning

opportunities and development programmes.



The post holder will work alongside the team leaders, senior nurses and corporate nursing team to lead the Divisional services strategic

directives in respect of the PNA role to improve clinical practice and education. This includes leading and coordinating the activities of

the PNA and Clinical Supervisors (CS) roles through facilitation of Restorative Clinical Supervision (RCS) for all Primary and Community

Care Registered Nurses. Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for delivering clinical supervision training for clinicians based

on the All Wales RESTORE Model including those employed by Independent Contactors.
