About us

------------

UCL is a world-leading teaching and research university, often ranked in the top ten in the world with an annual turnover of well over 1 billion. Part of UCL's vision is to

take on the hardest global challenges.

The UCL Centre for Advanced Research Computing (ARC) is UCL's new institute for infrastructure and innovation in digital research - the supercomputers, datasets, software, and people that make computational science and digital scholarship possible.

We are an innovative hybrid: a professional services department that delivers reliable and secure infrastructure and services to UCL research groups, and a laboratory for research and innovation in the application of advanced computational and data-intensive research methods, working in partnership with academics from all fields.

We are a home for the research technology professionals - research software engineers, HPC systems engineers, dev-ops specialists, data engineers, data scientists, data stewards, and Professional Research Investment and Strategy Managers - who support and collaborate in the delivery of UCL research, providing outstanding career development opportunities for these new kinds of research professionals.

About the role

------------------

Are you a highly motivated communicator with a track-record of supporting research? PRISMs - Professional Research Investment Strategy Managers - are a newly recognised set of roles which focus on maximising the value of new technologies and digital research-related projects.

In this role we are looking for someone who has knowledge or prior experience of communicating and community building around research. You will play a pivotal part in supporting community development and communicating research effectively, with a broad and diverse range of stakeholders both internally and externally.

A particular focus of this role will be to lead the communication of a newly funded Network+ project, which encourages and supports the development of leaders in the digital Research Technical Professional landscape. You will be instrumental in delivering activities and impact and ensuring that these are visible across UCL and beyond.

This role will support a wide range of cutting-edge research and services within the Department and University. Research disciplines are increasingly harnessing new technologies, which have the potential to transform how research from Astronomy to Zoology is undertaken. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders across UCL and externally (e.g. researchers, technical professionals, funders, industry partners).

About you

ARC is looking for an experienced, self-driven individual to support a new and growing Department leading in Academic Research and Professional Service delivery.

The successful candidate will:
