Salary: Grade 8 (58,225 - 67,468)
18 months Fixed Term (reviewable)
Working Hours: 28 hours per week
The Glasgow School of Art is seeking to appoint a Programme Leader to provide academic leadership for its new one-year Graduate Diploma in Art, Design, and Creative Practice low residency programme, launching in September 2026.
The Glasgow School of Art is internationally recognised as one of Europe's top university-level institutions in the visual creative disciplines. Based in the heart of Glasgow with connections across the globe, our studio-based teaching and world-leading research spans art, design, architecture, innovation and technology, making a significant difference to contemporary society.
The introduction of this new low residency programme, with its focus on sustainable, ethical, and contemporary creative practice, reflects GSA's Strategic Plan and our commitment to transforming creative education through inclusive, flexible, and collaborative models that give students greater agency in their learning and empowers them to create positive impact through their practice.
This position requires an experienced, proactive, and collaborative educator with extensive expertise in art, design, and creative practice in higher education. The postholder will lead all aspects of programme delivery, including curriculum development, learning resources, and assessment, ensuring programme quality and preparing graduates for progression to postgraduate study at GSA or elsewhere. They will be experienced in both online and in-person teaching, able to innovate in hybrid learning environments, and committed to providing an inclusive, student-centred, and academically rigorous experience that enables learners to balance study with personal commitments. Central to this role, is a strong commitment to equality, diversity, accessibility, and the integration of decolonised and socially just perspectives within curriculum design and delivery.
