Brief Description
You will lead the North & East Route's business change strategy and the delivery of change initiatives to support the successful delivery of the TransPennine Route Upgrade. The exciting enhancement of the Transpennine Route will change the way that the North & East Route will operate, maintain and renew our railway.
This role will lead for the Route as part of the TRU Enterprise team in identifying and overseeing the delivery of change initiatives across the Route in line with the Route's change governance and company standards#
About the role (External)
This role leads the development and delivery of change initiatives in partnership with the TransPennine Route Upgrade programme and Network Rail Route team. You will lead for the North & East Route in building a holistic business change strategy and implementation plan, integrating with the delivery of the TransPennine Route Upgrade, ranging across a wide scope of deliverables including organisational change, process change and the implementation of new technology. You will support the Route and TRU Programme in the successful delivery of major engineering works through co-ordinating the readiness activities of our Route operations and maintenance teams to both facilitate engineering work and the successful operation of train services for passengers during planned disruption.
The successful candidate will manage the development and delivery of business change activity to meet the requirements of TRU and the Network Rail Route, developing and managing a small project delivery team. You'll need a strong understanding of Network Rail operations, maintenance and asset management, and an awareness of train operator activities such as train crew resourcing, driver training and station despatch. You will be confident in working with a major investment programme to define requirements, interfacing with programme governance, reporting and assurance, and stakeholders across the industry at senior level

A relevant professional qualification with chartered status?
Experience in management of major programmes of work in the rail industry?
A strong understanding of Network Rail operations, maintenance and asset management?
Awareness of industry processes from planning activities through to operational delivery?

Essential
Relevant experience in the successful management of major and complex change programmes.
Experience of applying programme / project methodologies
Commercial and financial awareness.
Desirable
Educated to degree level.
Member of project association
Knowledge of the principles of investment processes and procedures.
Knowledge of/experience in the UK rail industry.
