We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Agile Project Engineering Manager to join our UK Project Delivery Team supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects across the organisation.
The successful applicant will play a key role in delivering value through high-quality, on-time project delivery with an emphasis on planning, allocation of tasks and monitoring the performance of the engineering team working on these projects. You will be working within our innovative project teams to develop and deliver our navigation and bridge systems and our maritime surveillance systems.

Purpose of the Role
You will provide programme and project engineering management for assigned projects including system engineering and software engineering for naval bridge systems projects & maritime surveillance systems projects, from bid phase through to and including support phase delivered by the department.
Support to Business Development
You will be responsible for
Assisting in the capture and analysis of technical requirements including, estimating timescales and product delivery milestones, managing the programme and project execution including design, implementation, assembly, integration, test and acceptance.
Managing project engineering activity to support delivery of outputs in accordance with the project plan and Anschutz UK/AUS Engineering Process
Creating and managing project engineering schedules at the EPIC level in accordance with the budgeted Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
Collating work package breakdowns defined by the project engineering team and subject matter experts to define a backlog of tasks with sufficient detail.
Providing recommended priorities to the Programme Manager.
Coordinating and tracking engineering activities and reporting status including progress, issues, risk and opportunities to the Programme Manager.
Supporting the Programme Manager in identifying the forward load for needed roles within the Engineering design team and highlight to the Project Manager where resources and roles are required
Supporting the Programme Manager with the metrics collection on the performance of the Engineering team
Managing Project Engineering changes with support of the Lead System Engineer and design authority
Review together with the System Design team the technical risks and opportunities and the related mitigation plans throughout the project
Maintaining Configuration Control in close collaboration with the project Configuration Manager
Participating in customer meetings as required.
Contributing to evaluating and recommending new technologies, tools and processes to help maintain high levels of excellence
Delivering of project CDRLS as required.
Managing project sub-contractor engineering activities as required.
Required Skills:
Programme and Project Management within an Engineering environment including Software Development, System Design and Build and Change Management.
System & Software development processes and procedures
Excellent communication skills with ability to explain and justify intended approaches to project work
Ability to collaborate with the wider team and accept input from team members and stakeholders
Desired Industry Knowledge:
Maritime Navigation and Bridge Systems
Delivery of UK Defence Projects to MoD
Education
Degree in Engineering, project management or related technical field and/or relevant industry experience.
Project Management Qualification such as APM, PRINCE2 or PMI
Experience with agile methodologies
