The Programme Manager for the Covid Vaccination Programme is responsible for the day-to-day line management of the covid vaccination team (SVOC - System Vaccine Operations Centre) and the associated delivery of the covid vaccination programme across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. The post holder will deputise and act up for the Deputy Clinical SRO and/or SRO for covid vaccinations as required in their absence.
The key responsibilities for this role include:
o Setting up and monitoring commissioning contracts for covid
o Ensuring robust project planning for the initiation of active campaigns and pause/close-down of future covid seasonal vaccination campaigns, including documented planning in readiness for surge vaccination campaigns in the event of new variants or significant outbreaks
o Analysis of programme data
o Preparation of executive and internal/external vaccine reports/briefings
o Implementing changes with an associated project plan in line with the NHS Vaccination Strategy (national release December 2023)
o Preparation of business cases that include financial and workforce elements alongside impact and outcome measures.
The post holder will oversee the effective delivery of the delegated budget of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight system Covid Vaccination Programme including the programme/SVOC team, Covid Vaccination Helpline team and Covid Access and Inequalities funding.
The post holder will liaise with colleagues and system partners including primary care, community pharmacies, hospitals, County Councils, Voluntary Sector, Public Health
Commissioners, NHS England and Hampshire and Isle of Wight system partners to achieve the aims and objectives of the Covid Vaccination Programme.
Working with the SRO and Deputy Clinical SRO, the post holder will support communications and engagement, outreach, access, and inequalities associated engagement activities to ensure sustained high levels and additional uptake of the covid vaccine including in areas of inequality and low vaccine coverage/vaccine hesitancy.
The post holder will support the Deputy Clinical SRO and SRO in developing and implementing safe and effective process to transfer the activities within the Covid Vaccination Programme to Business as Usual in an advised timeframe under the direction of the NHS England regional team and national policy.
The postholder will be based on site at the ICB, with options for flexible and remote working as part of the working pattern. Frequent visits to service providers, partner organisations and vaccination delivery sites will also be required to ensure sustained engagement and excellent working relationships across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Less frequent travel out of area for regional meetings is also required.
