The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine is internationally recognised for its pioneering research in infectious diseases and global health.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Programme Officer who will support the operational management and programme coordination of BRITE, a Research England-funded initiative aimed at fostering innovation and technology development in the biologics sector. This role involves close collaboration with researchers, industry partners, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of BRITE's objectives
The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting the Enterprise and Innovation (E&I) Operations Manager in fulfilling the operational and administrative goals of the E&I Team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and has experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
Operational Programme BRITE Delivery
Coordinate and support the successful delivery of all BRITE work packages
Maintain a detailed understanding of project timelines, deliverables, and interdependencies
Assist in the development and implementation of project plans, work schedules, and progress trackers
Administrative duties including organising and supporting regular project meetings, producing agendas, minutes, and action logs
Ensure adherence to funder terms and conditions
Ensure compliance with governance and quality assurance processes, maintaining accurate documentation and version control of all outputs
E&I
Programme Support
Work with the E&I Operations Manager to support broader departmental coordination, administration, and delivery of E&I led initiatives
Contribute to tracking E&I KPIs and metrics, supporting internal reporting and evaluation activities
Manage and monitor funding opportunities relevant to E&I, tracking key events such as conferences and relevant networking opportunities
Manage the administrative and logistical support to the E&I team
Networking and Relationship Management
Serve as a central liaison between the E&I Department and internal teams such as RMS, Finance, Knowledge Exchange, and Contracts
Work closely with academic leads, delivery teams, and external stakeholders
Assist in stakeholder engagement activities, including events, updates, and communications with partners, funders, and collaborators
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as an integral and flexible member of a fast-paced collaborative environment. You will be able to demonstrate:
Degree in relevant field and/or demonstratable professional experience
Knowledge of programme or project management principles
A demonstrable track record of meeting deadlines
Experience supporting complex programmes or projects within a higher education, research, or innovation setting
Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, including academic and professional service teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools (e.g. Teams, SharePoint,)
