Job Description

Support Through Sport CIO are seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and dedicated Progressions Mentor to join our rapidly growing organisation. We work across disadvantaged areas of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, delivering educational workshops and mentoring programmes to at-risk young people (ages 8-18) within underserved communities.

As a registered charity, Support Through Sport CIO delivers a wide range of sports sessions, mentoring programmes, workshops, activities, and youth development projects across 16 engagement areas. We are looking for a driven Progressions Mentor who can build trust-based relationships to support the personal and social development of young people--going beyond sport to help them achieve brighter futures.

Our initiatives act as diversion and intervention programmes, helping young people avoid negative influences such as knife crime, gang involvement, youth offending and serious youth violence.

Desirable Attributes



Previous experience in youth work or mentoring Positive, motivated, and reliable A strong role model to young people Lived experience of overcoming negative influences Confident in workshop planning and facilitation Team player with good communication skills Availability for evening sessions Full UK Driving Licence (essential) Passionate about making a difference in the community

Tasks & Responsibilities



Build meaningful, supportive, and professional relationships with young people Deliver educational workshops and programmes across target areas for at-risk/vulnerable young people (8-18) Maintain confidentiality, appropriate boundaries, and safeguard young people at all times Attend mentoring team meetings (typically every 3 weeks) Represent Support Through Sport CIO positively in the community, at sessions, and at events Complete light administration: registrations, emails, case notes, workshop/session planning, and monitoring via evaluation software Provide 1:1 mentoring support in homes, schools, community spaces, or at sessions Represent the charity at local, regional, and national community events Co-design and deliver programmes that align with the charity's objectives Mentor young people to support pro-social behaviours and reduce risk of negative influences Act as a positive community role model, upholding the charity's values and mission Work collaboratively with partners using a child-first approach, while tracking progression through outcomes frameworks

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From 13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 15 per week
