Overview:
London Borough of Harrow is seeking a new Project and Policy Officer who will be responsible for the development of the community safety strategy and strategic assessment, managing the statutory community safety partnership, Safer Harrow, managing key partnerships both internally and externally, and building up the risk profile of the borough.
The post holder will provide administrative support to the Community Safety team to ensure accountability and monitoring of the outcomes of the Community Safety Strategy. The post holder will provide administrative support for the Safer Harrow Community Safety Partnership quarterly meetings and support the council's response to serious violence in the community and explore funding and project opportunities that will contribute to the reduction of serious violence on the borough. The post holder will provide direct support to various projects and administer and oversee related policies, working with colleagues outside of the immediate team- distributing and collating of data from data collection exercises.
The role involves working closely with voluntary and community sector partners, teams within the council and other external partners that are stakeholders in the projects, supporting the coordination, control and reporting for Community Safety projects, policies and partnerships. The post holder will assist with the quality assurance of project documentation, such as reports, business cases, monitoring reports, financial returns, maintain the Programme team's SharePoint site and webpages and provide support to externally funded projects with a particular focus on data collection and analysis using Excel.
About you:
The successful candidate will have:Experience of extracting information from a range of sources and producing clear, error free and well-presented reports. A good analytical and methodological approach to work.
Experience of coordinating and arranging meetings, events and training.
Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience.
A good working knowledge of MS Office suite, with particular attention
of MS Excel
Understanding of project management and policy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a good
understanding of how to communicate to a range of audiences
