Job summary
As Project and Service Improvement Lead, you will use your knowledge, skills and experience to provide leadership and coordination for projects and service improvement initiatives, contributing to the effective delivery of change across the organisation.
Based within our Project and Portfolio Management function, you will support project and portfolio-level management by ensuring robust planning, tracking and reporting mechanisms are in place. Working in multidisciplinary teams and with senior stakeholders, you will contribute to the culture of continuous learning and improvement, ensuring that projects and change activities are aligned to strategic priorities.
Job description
Specifically, you will work closely with directorate/service leads in producing robust business cases and project initiation documents, allowing the Service to demonstrate appropriate value for money, benefits realisation and accountability.
Additionally, you will:
Support the Team Manager in developing and maturing the Project & Portfolio Management framework for the organisation;
Coordinate cross-project/service improvement activities; and
Lead the effective project and programme management across the organisation by agreeing milestones, monitoring progress and ensuring plans remain up to date and deliverable.
Person specification
For this key role, you will possess a project management qualification (or equivalent) and will offer a successful track record of delivering project and change activities, ensuring value for money and timely delivery.
In addition, you will be able to evidence your:
experience interacting at a senior level and providing advice/guidance;
in depth understanding of the theory and application of Business Case methodologies; and
proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management packages.
