We are seeking an experienced, ARB registered architect with enthusiasm for working on the conservation and creative transformation of historic buildings, and an interest in environmentally sustainable building.
This is an opportunity to take the next step in your career, to join a small practice with an interesting portfolio of projects, in a beautiful area, and we would expect to appoint a new partner within 12 months.
We work on a variety of projects in South Shropshire and Herefordshire, many listed buildings for private clients and new build schemes in conservation areas. We also have a number of interesting church projects.
A sound appreciation of architectural history and a good knowledge of traditional construction methods and repair techniques are essential.
Working as part of our small team, taking projects from enquiry and concept design, planning, listed building consent and building regulations applications through to construction and completion, you will be well organised, able to work to deadlines, and confident in liaising directly with clients.
You will be proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp, producing 2D architectural drawings and 3D visualisations, and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. We would expect several years' experience in running projects and managing your team.
Hours are 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday, with an hour lunch break (37.5 hours/week). Working mainly in the office/site although some home working may be accommodated.
