Role Title: Project Buyer



Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Project Buyer with a strong background in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services essential to offshore projects. You will ensure that procurement activities are aligned with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards while complying with industry regulations and company policies.

Key Areas of Responsibility



Procurement Management:



Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for materials, equipment, and services required for offshore EPCI projects.

Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.

Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize cost savings and project timelines.

Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and develop new supplier partnerships to support project needs.

Project Coordination:



Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure timely procurement of necessary resources.

Monitor project schedules to ensure that procurement activities align with key project milestones.

Identify potential risks related to supply chain disruptions and develop mitigation strategies.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:



Ensure all procurement activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and client requirements.

Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that purchased materials and services meet project specifications and standards.

Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations to ensure continuous improvement.

Cost Control & Reporting:



Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effective purchasing without compromising quality.

Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and project status.

Assist in the preparation of bid packages, cost estimates, and project procurement plans.

Documentation & Record Keeping:



Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications.

Ensure that all documentation complies with internal and external audit requirements.

Key Tasks



Maintain supplier relationships to ensure the continued supply of goods and services.

Ensure key delivery dates are met/improved to avoid project and asset delays and delivery date information is recorded within the system.

Source and qualify new suppliers- carry out competitive sourcing/tendering for projects and assets ensuring all vendors are evaluated via the Company on-boarding process.

Negotiate for the best fit and optimum costs commensurate with quality, reliability and delivery.

Prepare and implement formal supply agreements.

Ensure continuous monitoring of lead times and expedite where required.

Operational Procurement from requests for quotes to evaluations and negotiations.

Act as the interface between customer and vendor to develop and maintain business relationships.

All suppliers & sub-contractors engaged are suitably qualified and approved.

Operational delays attributed to procurement issues are zero.

Education and Qualifications Specific to Role



Essential Qualifications

Degree (or relevant work experience).

Desirable Qualifications or Equivalent Experience



Professional body membership.

CIPS Qualification or equivalent.

Demonstrable Experience Specific to Role



Experience of a global project buying environment.

Procurement experience in multi-project, engineering environment.

Commercial acumen.

Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

In-depth knowledge of offshore industry standards, regulations, and supply chain dynamics.

Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 30,000.00 per year
