Salary: 80,000 - 90,000, neg dep on experience + performance related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing

What is the role?
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Controlling Finance Manager to oversee all financial aspects of a major Telecommunications / Rail /
construction project. You will be co-responsible with the Technical Project Manager for the successful execution of this project.
The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, cost control, reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, project requirements and Network Rail.
Key Responsibilities:Lead all commercial project execution activities including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting. Develop and manage the in-house financial model. Provide submissions to Network Rail and manage queries through to resolution. Monitor project costs and ensure alignment with budgetary constraints. Conduct risk and opportunity management, including claims and variation order handling. Support contract negotiations and financial aspects of change orders and claims. Prepare and present regular financial reports to project stakeholders. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure financial transparency and accountability. Manage cash flow, funding requirements, and financial risk. Oversee procurement and subcontractor payment processes. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Liaise with auditors, banks, and external consultants as needed. Collaborate with procurement, legal, and technical teams to ensure project success. Conduct regular project reviews and variance analysis with stakeholders. Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting in systems, i.e. Workday.

What do I need?
Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Proven experience in financial management, within construction or infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles, cost control, and financial reporting. Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Workday, MS Excel). Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Desirable Attributes:Experience with large-scale infrastructure or civil engineering projects. Knowledge of contract types (e.g., NEC). Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
