We are currently seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager (PCM) to deploy and lead project control systems throughout our Pipeline Group (PG) business area, including tendering activity and portfolio delivery.


The successful candidate will demonstrate proven leadership in a similar role, commercial acumen and the ability to successfully interact and influence at all levels of the business.


Our preferred location for this role is within our UK Pipeline Group centre in Glasgow. Other Subsea7 locations in Aberdeen, Sutton and Paris may also be considered.


What will you be doing?



The PCM will promote and maximize the use of digitalisation tools, systems and data to ensure efficient and effective utilisation or transfer of data between systems.


Also, interface with Regional Project Control Managers, as required, to ensure PG processes are aligned with the rest of the business.


Continuous collaboration will be maintained across the business, including with senior management, package managers, discipline team leaders (for example vessels, SCM, tendering, cost control) and external contractors.


The role has two direct reports who in turn lead a team of Project Planners and Document Controllers. The PCM will employ effective leadership to inspire team dynamics and empower team development.


Key responsibilities are to:

Ensure the robust application of the Project Control systems across all PG portfolio projects, including planning, document control, cost estimating/monitoring and risk management. Align PG with all Group Digitalisation tools and initiatives, establishing continuous improvement. Develop and enhance Project Control tools and processes in collaboration with PG Functions and Projects to improve predictable performance. Manage the PG Project Control resources. Develop and maintain tools to measure progress, people utilisation, resourcing and productivity. Monitor performance across PG projects portfolio to identify potential areas of concern and support cost efficiency initiatives. Analyse cost and schedule data to generate trend reports, forecasts and early alerts for management. Evaluate the KPI data to provide summary overviews and actionable recommendations to PG Management. Implement and manage a review process focused on portfolio alignment of CTRs, bay day utilisation, vessel schedules and cost forecasting. Oversee the PG Integrated Schedule to identify critical interfaces and congestion. Lead the implementation of dashboards to provide PG Leaders and Management with insight into portfolio delivery and for the PG LTF submissions. Support Package Delivery Manager / Leads during PGMR process. Manage, mentor and develop team members, creating a culture of collaboration while also setting clear goals and expectations. Encourage self-development and ownership of tasks, delegating as appropriate and providing guidance to support learning and progression. Algin to the Company's Vision, Values and Strategy, a Make Possible mindset and drive a culture of continuous improvement. Undertake reasonable planned UK and overseas travel.

What experience would we like you to have?



A well-established proven track record in Project Control management A high degree of proficiency in MS Office including MS Project; Power BI would be preferred but is not essential. Energy industry experience would be preferred, but is not essential, alongside working knowledge of a fast-paced operational environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Collaborative working, the ability to build strong business relationships in-person and remotely across a multi-cultural global workforce. Effective planning and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail. The ability to compile and present data in a clear, concise and engaging manner. Credible leadership and people management skills to set and manage performance objectives and provide mentorship and development. Commercially aware with numerical and budgetary experience. Can engage, influence and negotiate at all levels, internally and externally. Pro-active with a solutions-based approach, and the ability to constructively challenge and be challenged. Flexible and adaptable to meet the evolving needs of a 24/7 global business
Ability to undertaken planned travel.
