Job Summary


Penryn Town Council seeks a Project Co-ordinator/Administration Assistant to support the delivery of local projects and provide high-quality administrative assistance to Penryn Town Council. The role involves coordinating small-scale community projects, assisting with communications, and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day council operations.

The above position is a part-time fixed term post for 22 hours per week.

The days and hours worked to be flexible based on the requirements of the Council, the role will require attendance at the Library/Council Offices in Penryn.

The job initially has a 3-month probationary period

Project Co-ordination



1.

Assist with the planning, delivery and monitoring of community-focused projects (e.g. town improvements, events, environmental initiatives).

2.

Maintain project documentation including plans, timelines, budgets and reports.

3.

Liaise with contractors, community groups, councillors and other stakeholders.

4.

Track project progress and report updates to the Town Clerk and relevant committees.

5.

Support funding applications and grant monitoring where required.

Administrative Support



6.

Provide general administrative support including minute taking, filing, and responding to public enquiries.

7.

Assist in preparing agendas, reports and correspondence for council meetings.

8.

Maintain and update council records, databases and filing systems (electronic and paper-based).

9.

Support the organisation of town council events and community engagement activities.

10.

Assist with the council's communications, including website updates, newsletters and social media posts.

11.

Provide occasional cover in the Library front desk dealing with public enquiries

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 16,055.00 per year

Expected hours: 22.5 per week
