About the Organisation



Generation England C.I.C

is a West Midlands based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving life chances for disadvantaged communities, particularly children and young people (CYP). About the Project - EcoGenius



EcoGenius

is an exciting environmental innovation project delivering fun, interactive workshops to disadvantaged children and young people aged 10-18 across Sandwell and Birmingham. Inspired by programmes such as Dragons' Den and The Apprentice, young people work in teams to explore environmental challenges and develop creative solutions to protect the planet. The project builds confidence, teamwork, presentation skills and environmental awareness while empowering young people to become positive changemakers.

Role Overview



We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic Project Coordinator/Assistant to support the delivery of EcoGenius. You will support project coordination, administration, monitoring and evaluation, partner communication and workshop delivery.

Key Duties and Responsibilities



Support day-to-day project coordination, including scheduling workshops, booking venues, communicating with partners and supporting project timelines. Provide administrative support, maintaining accurate project records, attendance registers, files and documentation. Assist with monitoring and evaluation, including collecting participant data, distributing and collating evaluation forms, inputting data and supporting basic reporting. Maintain secure project records in line with data protection and confidentiality requirements. Support recruitment of beneficiaries by liaising with schools, youth groups and community partners, sharing information with families and managing sign-ups or referrals. Assist with communication and coordination with partner organisations involved in project delivery. Support outreach and promotion activities, including helping distribute flyers and sharing information (including social media where appropriate). Collect feedback from children, young people and families, ensuring their views are captured and recorded. Assist in preparing monitoring reports and funder updates by collating data, feedback and notes. Provide general day-to-day support to the Project Manager to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery. Follow all safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality procedures, raising concerns immediately with the Project Manager or Designated Safeguarding Officer. Attend team meetings, training and supervision as required.

Additional Duties (as Required)



Assist with preparing presentations, briefings and project documents. Provide practical support on workshop days, including welcoming participants, assisting facilitators and managing registrations. Support continuous improvement by identifying issues, sharing feedback and helping implement improvements.

Person Specification



Essential



Experience of engaging effectively with children, young people and families from a range of culturally and ethnically diverse communities. Understanding of cultural and religious practices within diverse communities, with the ability to work in a respectful and inclusive way. Experience supporting monitoring, evaluation or funder reporting. Experience supporting projects, programmes or services (paid or voluntary). Strong organisational and administrative skills with good attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively with young people, families and partner organisations. Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, safeguarding and working with children and young people. Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, email, data entry). Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from a Project Manager. Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Desirable



Interest in environmental issues and sustainability. Ability to communicate in additional community languages (for example, Urdu, Punjabi, Arabic) to support engagement and communication where appropriate. Experience of working in diverse community or youth settings and adapting communication styles to meet different needs. Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications & Training:



Qualifications relevant to the job or an ability to demonstrate experience relevant to the job. Desirable - Child Protection Training undertaken (however training will be provided)

Other Requirements



Willing to travel and work unsocial hours. To be flexible with project delivery i.e. times, dates, venues etc.
