We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Project Engineering Team based at the Crewe site.
Purpose of the Role
Management of projects, production of project documentation and drawings, engineering improvements / modifications of the company product range.
Main Tasks
Ensure the effective operation of design and draughting procedures by maximising the use of computer-based calculations and CAD technology.
Responsible for Bills of Materials and Item codes and the provision of technical support to other teams as required.
Improve the specifications of existing products.
Maintain and implement up-to-date knowledge of all appropriate legislation which affects Company responsibilities in terms of engineering design and the fitness-for-purpose of products and ensure that at all times supplied products conform with applicable legislation.
Ensure that Company products and documentation are produced in accordance with the appropriate engineering standards, specifications and customer orders whilst maintaining compliance with appropriate legislation.
Management of projects including facilitating customer inspection visits, liaising with sub-suppliers regarding technical requirements and responsibility for correct submission of documentation. Proactively implement strategies to ensure products are designed for ease of manufacture.
Qualifications
Degree level qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
Desirable Skills
Previous experience using Solidworks or similar CAD packages & CAE packages.
Experience in a similar role using Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Experience of Bills of Materials (BOM) creation or management.
Understanding of the need to provide excellent customer service.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to create and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
Ability to adapt to change and a willingness to learn.
Strong IT skills, in particular Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
