VWS Westgarth Ltd is part of
Veolia Water Technologies
group and is reported through this parent. Veolia Water Technologies (VWT) is in turn part of Veolia Environnement SA (VE), a French multinational business.
VWS Westgarth Ltd, whose main office is in East Kilbride, Scotland, is a specialist in water treatment systems for the offshore energy sector. We are the world leader in the Sulphate Removal Process, which is a sea water treatment system for the offshore industry and we are also specialists in treatment systems for oilfield produced waters. Our main offshore markets are currently West Africa and South America, where we also undertake the management responsibility for offices in Luanda and Rio de Janeiro.

The Role
The role requires a highly driven, self-motivated and self-confident individual with a positive 'can do' attitude, capable of influencing and coordinating the action of peers and influencing discussions with the supply chain. The project engineer should demonstrate commercial awareness, be well organised and be comfortable with complex projects enduring a rapidly changing environment and conflicting priorities.
Main Duties
Support the Project Manager to ensure that the project works are executed safely and efficiently, with quality, programme and cost objectives achieved to the mutual satisfaction of the Customer and Veolia
Manage specific areas of the project to the requirements of the contract, quality, programme and cost constraints as allocated by the Project Manager, such as:
Management and administration of a high-risk/high-value equipment or fabrication package order
Overall management of equipment and materials design & procurement deliverables
Management of installation sub-contracts
Assist in the overall management of the project as directed by the Project Manager, including:
Preparation of project execution strategy
Preparation of external and internal progress reports
Attendance at external and internal progress review meetings
Perform Risk and Opportunity Management
Utilise and champion Veolia Change Control systems
Preparation and costing of internal /client changes via Change Control
Visit customers, suppliers, subcontractors and site as necessary
Communicate with construction site team on a regular basis
Chair and minute internal progress review meetings
Chair and minute progress review meetings with suppliers or subcontractors as appropriate.
Report regularly on progress issues, potential problems and potential solutions to any such problems.
Create project document list in line with agreed Client Documentation Requirements/and or Procedure
Create Supplier Document Distribution Matrix which indicates minimal circulation requirements for internal squad check of supplier drawings and documents.
Ensure that the project team operates to VWS procedures and any other specific requirements of the contract
Liaise with nominated classification society to ensure project design/equipment meets requirements of their rules and regulations
Establish set up of project administration systems including the filing system
Prepare a project close-out report and archive the project records
Ensure all appropriate Health & Safety procedures are applied at all project locations
Deputise for the Project Manager in their absence
Leadership and Stakeholder Management Duties and Requirements
Ensure that Veolia values are adopted, adhered to and communicated such that the integrity of the company is upheld to the highest level
Ability to maintain focus and report on safety, quality, cost and schedule performance
Focused on Change Control, Risk and Opportunity
Support all activities in providing leadership, motivation and inspiration to the team
Requirements
Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline or Quantity Surveying
Previous project engineering experience in the delivery of equipment and/or process plant modules for the Oil and Gas industry.
General IT familiarity and competence in use of Google and MS Office
Understanding of project planning principles
