Role Overview:
The industry is experiencing explosive growth and Merlin is positioning itself to take advantage of this and expand. The technical abilities and resources within the company are vital to fueling this growth and the Company is now looking for a Project Engineer to provide a leading role within the engineering department.
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in automotive engineering to lead engineering projects from concept through to delivery. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with project management skills and be proficient in Solidworks to support design and development activities.
This role requires close collaboration with our sales team to scope new projects, define requirements, and ensure successful design, development, and delivery of electrical power systems.
Responsibilities include:
Lead engineering projects from initial concept through to final delivery.
Collaborate with the sales team to define project requirements and scope.
Develop and review technical designs using Solidworks.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure technical and commercial alignment.
Provide engineering input into tenders, quotations, and technical documentation.
Ensure all project activities comply with quality standards, health & safety, and industry regulations.
Drive continuous improvement in design and project processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. (Evidence of equivalent degree-level experience considered).
Extensive experience working on engineering projects within the automotive or related sectors.
Proven track record of leading and managing engineering projects.
Strong proficiency in Solidworks for design and development.
Familiarity with electrical power systems is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong problem-solving ability and technical decision-making capability.
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams across engineering and sales functions.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary 45,000 plus a competitive group commission/bonus scheme, providing the opportunity to increase your earnings based on performance. This program rewards your dedication and contribution to our success
