Job Description

Based in the Herefordshire village of Much Marcle, Westons Cider is an independent cider-making Company, making premium award-winning ciders since 1880.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join our team!

The successful candidate will support the successful delivery of all engineering and capital projects across the Westons Cider site, ensuring efficient implementation, commissioning, and handover into operation. Acting as a link between the Project Manager and the Engineering Manager, the role ensures that project outcomes align with business objectives and operational needs.

The Project Engineer also works closely with the Engineering Manager to identify production downtime, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement within cider production, packaging, and utilities operations.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent experience).

Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment, preferably within the food, beverage, or FMCG sectors.

Proven experience in project coordination, commissioning, and technical problem-solving.

Strong understanding of equipment reliability, utilities, and automation systems.

Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.

Experience with Hygienic design of equipment to meet latest standards

IOSH qualification

Desirable:

Experience within a beverage production or bottling facility.

Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).

Working knowledge of maintenance management systems (e.g., CMMS).

Project management training or certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM).

NEBOSH

Previous experience with CapEx stake holder management
