Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring that all specifications and requirements are met. You will utilise your technical expertise to analyse problems, design systems, and implement solutions that enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Accountabilities



Responsible for implementation of Engineering Projects and manage other department members or contract staff to achieve project deadlines and budget. Generate and maintain project schedules Create cost estimates at different project phases Update live project cost reports throughout construction phase, relaying information regarding forecasted spend throughout Liaise with procurement department to ensure any project equipment is delivered to site in line with project schedule Chair co-ordination / SIMOPs meetings. Monitors contractor workload and specific project progress in conjunction with the Construction Superintendent to ensure project schedules are met or adjusted in line with current project conditions. Generation of detailed project SOW with approval from the Project Manager for tendering purpose, review variation applications and confirm work change directives. Manage technical query process throughout project lifecycle. Identifying necessary standards or safety tests the final product must meet. Delivering progress reports and schedule updates to relevant stakeholders. Work alongside Construction Superintendent to create and review work packs.

SHEQ Management



To coordinate and participate in safety and engineering reviews and site visit risk assessment meetings. To ensure health, safety, environmental and quality procedures are followed and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all associated work. Work alongside the Construction Superintendent to ensure all completed project work is compliant to relevant standards and specification requirements.

Communication



Communicate with project management team regarding updates on schedule, cost, risks, and any safety related issues. Troubleshooting issues and working with team members to resolve problems or setbacks. Communicate project requirements to various departments in project SIMOPs

Confidentiality



Follow company policies and procedures to keep confidentiality on sensitive information.

Education

Essential



Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or similar field Project Management Qualification such as APM Project Fundamentals or Prince2.

Desirable



IOSH managing safety or equivalent.

Key Skills

Essential



Knowledge of COMAH regulations and safety standards. Proficiency in using Microsoft Project to develop project schedules Knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects running concurrently Knowledge of how to read Engineering drawings such as P&IDs, isometrics, GA drawings.

Desirable



Tendering processes and generation of project scopes for construction. Experience working in the Chemical industry.

Work Experience



Minimum of 2 years of experience in project engineering
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 55,000.00 per year
