We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of health, safety, and environmental compliance during the construction of a new Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Plant. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the project adheres to UK HSE regulations, industry best practices, and company standards.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific Health & Safety plans and procedures.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and other relevant UK legislation.
Liaise with contractors, site managers, and project stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture.
Support Principal Contractor with investigation of incidents and near-misses, and input to reports with corrective actions.
Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to site personnel.
Maintain accurate records of safety documentation, training, and incident logs.
Support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives related to the AD plant.
Requirements
NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent H&S qualification.
Proven experience in managing health & safety on construction projects, ideally within energy, waste, or other process based industrial sectors.
Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM Regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across part-time schedule.
Experience with anaerobic digestion or similar process plant construction is desirable but not essential.
Working Pattern:
2-3 days per week, flexible scheduling to align with project milestones and site activity, on-site presence required at LE16 9RP.
