Position Overview
As the Project Lead, you will report to the Project Manager within the Operations Team, responsible for ensuring the successful completion of business critical software deployment projects on time, to budget, to all quality standards, and to business and customer expectations. You will be expected to manage all tasks and coordinate resources related to simultaneous international projects as directed by the line manager in the execution of all phases until successful completion. You will ensure all allocated projects are completed in line with best practice by meticulously managing designated projects and to ensure all documentation, project plans and backlog information is clearly recorded and categorised for audit purposes.
Key Responsibilities
Work with cross-functional teams composed of software developers, deployment specialists, data/cloud engineers, product teams and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of software projects on time and within budget.
Coordinate project activities, resources and dependencies across multiple geographical locations and time zones, ensuring each project stays on schedule and adheres to its deadlines.
Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop comprehensive project plans, scope, and timelines with internal teams and external clients.
Proactively identify potential blockers, risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate as necessary to ensure timely resolution and ensure continuous improvement.
Track milestones, deliverables and change requests to provide accurate reports to the Project Manager.
Enforce a consistent project approach, ensuring quality measures are in place and customers are updated through regular reporting.
In the absence of the Project Manager, act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist in providing analysis for post-project reviews to evaluate project performance, identify lessons learned, and implement process improvements for future projects.
Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and enhance project delivery capabilities.
There will be expectation for this role to travel to meet customers at the direction of line manager
Qualifications & Experience
Experience
Proven experience managing global software projects from initiation to completion, preferably in a software development or IT services environment.
Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and project management frameworks (e.g., PMBOK) and able to clearly articulate these to customers, stakeholders and less experienced internal teams.
Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Monday, or similar platforms.
Experience working in a global or multicultural environment is highly desirable.
