About the Team:
The COO teams' responsibilities can be summarised as follows: The development and ongoing operation of centralised prioritisation and resource allocation. Provision of centralised services to all CPD functions and geographies, including business as-usual oversight, change and project management standards KPI/KRI/OKR tracking and reporting.
About this role:
The Project Management Office (PMO) Manager serves as an agile, adaptable, and multi-disciplinary core of the COO team.
To support continuous, effective and optimal allocation of resource-to priorities through the establishment and operation of central Change and Investment and Project Management Office disciplines
To enhance project delivery and organisational learning across CDP by
establishing consistent governance, tools, and methodologies; enabling
excellence from the Central PMO; and supporting strategic decision-making
through robust portfolio oversight and reporting.
Operating across all CDP functions and geographies, the plays a key role in
both business-as-usual operations, strategy and key change initiatives.
PMO Manager is responsible for surfacing and addressing issues and
helping to design solutions that enable CDP to work more effectively and
efficiently.
This broad, high-impact role requires agility and breadth as a strategist,
analysist, and facilitator. The incumbent is adept at working on a wide range
of issues and needs; a quick learner and comfortable with complexity; is
financially literate; can analyse and understand a wide range of drivers; and
communicates clearly across functional and geographic lines.
What you will do:
1. Project Management Standards & Governance

  • Develop and maintain organisation-wide project management standards, templates, tools and best practices to ensure consistency and excellence across all global projects
  • Design and implement a scalable stage gate process for all project types (grant, IT, organisational)
  • Ensure alignment with industry best practices while adapting to functional needs
2. Portfolio Management & Reporting
  • Establish and manage cross-functional portfolio methodology, standards and processes, and reporting to track progress, risks, and dependencies
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the Change and Investment Committee
  • Facilitate continuous optimal resource allocation through prioritisation and data-driven decision support
3. Capability Building & Knowledge Sharing
  • Design and deliver onboarding and continuous development programs for project managers
  • Provide coaching and guidance on PM tools and methodologies
  • Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives and retrospectives to foster organisational learning
4. Direct Project Delivery
  • Lead and manage strategic organisational projects as assigned
  • Ensure delivery on time, within scope, and aligned with organisational priorities

We're looking for:
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in program management, ideally within a central PMO or cross-functional environment
  • Strong understanding of project governance, methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile), and portfolio management
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Ability to coach and influence across levels and functions
Desirable Qualifications
  • Project Management Certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile PM)
  • Experience in organisational change or transformation projects
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English with an open communication style and the ability to bring people together
  • Culturally and self-aware
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Agile, flexible comfortable with ambiguity
  • Results and outcome orientated

This is a hybrid role, candidates will need to live within a commutable distance of the London office and be comfortable with 2 days in the office per week.
