Job Summary


As the PMO Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful delivery of multiple client projects by ensuring consistency, visibility, and control across the consultancy's portfolio. Collaborating closely with Project Managers, Resource Management, and Delivery Leads, you will provide governance, reporting, and support continuous improvement efforts that enhance delivery capability while maintaining the agility needed in a fast-paced environment. This role requires someone who is hands-on, adaptable, and proactive. You will bring strong analytical skills, alongside excellent organisational, multitasking, and stakeholder communication abilities. A commercially minded approach, with an understanding of project financials and client billing processes, is essential. Success in this role also depends on a collaborative mindset and the ability to build trusted relationships across both internal delivery teams and external client stakeholders.

Responsibilities



Project Governance & Support



Support adoption of effective PMO standards, templates, and reporting frameworks. Assist project teams in start-up, planning, and closure activities, ensuring documentation and governance checkpoints are completed. Conduct periodic project reviews to assess delivery health, risks, and dependencies. Provide hands-on administrative and coordination support to ensure smooth project execution.

Portfolio Oversight & Reporting



Collate and analyse project data to produce concise portfolio reports and dashboards for leadership. Track key performance indicators such as project delivery status, resource utilization, and profitability. Ensure visibility of risks, issues, and dependencies across all active client projects.

Financial & Resource Tracking



Support project budgeting, forecasting, and invoicing processes in collaboration with finance and delivery teams. Maintain accurate time-tracking, resource allocation, and utilization data across engagements. Highlight variances and assist in reconciling project financials and commercial performance.

Risk, Issue & Change Management



Maintain central registers for risks, issues, and changes. Support project managers in maintaining RAID logs and ensuring timely escalation of critical items. Monitor and help manage project change requests and impact assessments.

Tools, Processes & Continuous Improvement



Administer and improve PMO tools such as MS Project, Certinia PSA, Jira, Confluence. Develop and maintain project templates, trackers, and reporting packs. Drive small process improvement initiatives to enhance delivery efficiency and consistency. Support a knowledge sharing culture by sharing lessons learned and best practices to enhance all team members experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and documentation. Confident in client-facing consultancy settings, with attention to detail and the ability to tailor communication appropriate to the audience.

Proven ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary project teams, including consultants, developers, and client stakeholders. Experience coordinating across small project teams or workstreams within a PMO or delivery function.

Dedicated to delivering excellent service to both internal teams and external clients. Skilled at managing stakeholder expectations and maintaining strong relationships across complex projects. Experience supporting large-scale IT or business system implementations with multiple stakeholders.

Continuous Learning



Proactive in developing new skills and keeping up-to-date with project management and technology trends. Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement of PMO and delivery practices.

Consulting Skills



Strong consulting mindset -- capable of understanding client challenges, analysing requirements, and contributing to practical delivery solutions. Effective at problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and maintaining trusted client relationships throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Delivery



Demonstrable experience supporting or coordinating successful technology project deliveries. Good understanding of both traditional (Waterfall) and Agile project delivery approaches. Strong analytical and reporting skills. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and stakeholder communication abilities.

Qualifications



Desirable:

Recognised project management certification such as PRINCE2, APM PMQ. Relevant Bachelor Degree or equivalent. Experience with using Certinia PSA

Requirements

& Commitments



Remote/hybrid working location, but depending on where you live, you will have a base location at our head office in Langstone, Wales or at our satellite office in Guildford, Surrey Travel will be required to our offices and client sites as the project requires. Standard Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) including Disclosure Barring Scotland (DBS) is a minimum requirement for all roles. Security Clearance (SC) may also be required
