Salary range: 42,060 - 44,685 (pro rata) p.a. incl. London weighting
Contract: Fixed term (12 months)
Hours of work: 36 hours per week
Location: Civic Centre and other locations from time to time

The Post
Joining Shared Technology Services department as a Project Management Officer means becoming part of a vital team that delivers IT Infrastructure Services to the London Boroughs of Brent, Lewisham, and Southwark. As a Project Management Officer, you will provide integral support and expert guidance on project and programme management policy, internal standards, and processes. Your work will help drive consistency and excellence across project delivery for Shared Technology Services and the boroughs it serves.
You will support project managers to ensure the delivery of up-to-date reports (RAID, Finance and Project Highlight reports) for governance and project boards, attend these boards to record and minute decisions and actions, and track them to completion. You will also be required to deputise for colleagues on key projects as required.
The Person
We are looking for a confident and assertive Project Management Officer with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will be adept at analysing complex issues and making impactful decisions. They should be comfortable interacting with and influencing colleagues, stakeholders, and partners, and have experience chairing meetings with senior stakeholders.
This role requires a proactive individual eager to enhance PMO processes and team performance. Knowledge of IT Project Management methodologies like PRINCE2, as well as familiarity with the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework, is essential. You will be skilled in using MS Office, especially Word, Excel and CoPilot and have hands on experience of using ITSM tools. Experience in a complex IT infrastructure environment and in project delivery or PMO roles is crucial.
