We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of engineering and improvement projects at our established manufacturing site near Ashington. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, process-led environment and is comfortable managing multiple stakeholders from project initiation through to completion.
About the Role
You will oversee a broad portfolio of capital and site improvement projects, taking responsibility for scope, cost, timeline, and safety. Working closely with site teams, engineering staff, and external contractors, you'll ensure all projects align with operational goals and regulatory standards.
Some projects may require flexibility around working hours, including occasional weekends, particularly during key installation or commissioning stages.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end delivery of capital and maintenance projects across the site
Define project scopes, develop budgets and timelines, and assess risks
Lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate contractor activity
Oversee procurement, installation, commissioning, and project handover
Identify and implement process and performance improvements
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal procedures (CDM, PTW, MOC, PSM)
Maintain accurate project documentation and progress reporting
Support a culture of continuous improvement and safe working practices
Be available on-site during critical project phases as needed
What We're Looking For
Proven experience managing engineering or capital projects in a manufacturing, chemical, or process-driven environment
Engineering, project management, or technical background (Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience)
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Familiarity with process safety standards, CDM regulations, and contractor management
A pragmatic, hands-on approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Willingness to work flexibly to support project delivery
