Description of The Switch

We're The Switch, a pioneering charity driving change within education to empower children and young people to dream big and achieve their aspirations.

With more than 30 years of experience behind us, we're focused and committed to helping our local East London community boost career options for young people and ensure that every child reaches their best future.

The Role

Delivering engaging sessions, you will help to raise young peoples' confidence in money-management skills, literacy, numeracy, and support them in learning about the world of work.

You will also work with business volunteers from The City and Canary Wharf area, who support the workshops through their experience, advice, and guidance.

As Project Manager you will be responsible for the coordination of the schemes, liaising with schools and business coordinators. You will be comfortable with setting up a project, monitoring and troubleshooting, and reporting back on its success. You will use a variety of databases and online systems to support project coordination.

We anticipate that roughly 30% of your time will be spent delivering sessions in classrooms, and the remaining 70% will be spent managing the project systems, schools and volunteers.

- A background working with young people in one or more of the following roles: teacher, coach, mentor, youth worker, facilitator, trainer or events leader
