Hampshire and the Solent (HatS) is part of the government's Devolution Priority Programme, delivering devolution to the region by May 2026.
To facilitate the programme's delivery we are seeking Project Managers on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
Given the pressing timescales and the scale of work to deliver the programme we're looking for experienced project and programme professionals who can hit the ground running, bringing energy and drive to the projects we need to deliver.
About you:
You'll be an experienced and qualified project management professional, ideally you will have experience in data, digital, HR or OD related projects. You will work across multiple projects supporting project leads in their professional specialisms. You will also support the programme directors working across both programmes in the portfolio. Public sector experience would be desirable but is not essential for the role.
You'll be a capable self-starter, able to work on your own initiative, whilst also being a strong team player. Strong interpersonal skills mean you'll be comfortable engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders including senior managers, other public sector partners and wider stakeholders. Using your organisational skills you'll be comfortable being deployed across multiple projects and operating across the portfolio.
Supporting projects with their reporting and management of their delivery plans will be carried out through MS Project for the web. With strong digital skills you ideally you'll be familiar with this, or similar online project management tools, although training can be given.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a programme creating and shaping the MCCA, a new aspect of local government across the region.
Additional requirements:
You will need to be available to be on site with the project team at least 2 days a week (currently Tuesdays and Wednesdays) There may be other onsite requirements according to the demands of the project.
Ability to travel across the region.
Please note we require either a full-time or part-time (flexible between 1 full time 37 hours per week or 2 part time 22.2 hours per week)

Salary: The salary band for this role is 52,413 - 58,865. The starting salary is 52,413 with annual progression through the salary bands.
