Reporting to - Principal Engineer - Vehicle Test
The Vehicle Test activity conducts whole vehicle testing on test tracks and public roads. Tests include structural and powertrain durability, corrosion, QA, NVH, road load data, dynamics, and many others.
The role of the Project Manager is to manage larger or more demanding projects that involve multiple tests within the group, or across other areas of UTAC. Projects need to be understood, monitored and tracked, with issues and roadblocks being resolved as quickly as possible. The project manager is a key interface between the customer and test engineers, focussing on providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
Manage test projects that involve multiple tests within the Vehicle Test department
Manage projects that involve tests in other UTAC departments/locations, or external service providers
Manage test projects for the Defence industry, including security requirements
Create and maintain project plans
Work closely with test engineers to ensure progress of projects
Track project financials and invoicing
Understand roadblocks and work through solutions
Lead direct customer communications
Provide interface between customer and test engineers for daily progress updates
Management of complex multi-disciplinary projects incorporating multiple internal and external testing suppliers
Act in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times

Relevant engineering degree, project management qualification, or extensive experience in similar field(s)

Full UK driving licence & own transport (UTAC is not easily accessible via public transport)
SC clearance or ability to achieve this (UK national, residency in the UK for the last 5 years)
Willing to undergo a Criminal Disclosure check
NOTE: This position be will based primarily on site at Millbrook, Bedford
