Voltempo is developing Hyper Rapid DC charging solutions for a range of commercial vehicle sectors, initially here in the UK, but progressively, as the transport sector electrifies, internationally. The company holds several international patents, it is engaged in the end-to-end design, supply, site commissioning and servicing of charging solutions, targeting commercial vehicles. The business is currently scaling and is well supported by both its international shareholders and its role under the UK Govt eFreight programme, where it is leading a consortium of UK logistics fleet operators to deploy the UK first eHGVs charging network.

About the Role

:

This role is responsible for planning, team management, coordination, financial control and delivery of Voltempo's commercial projects. You will be pivotal in providing governance and motivation to the team enabling timely, to budget delivery of the business's projects.

In this role you will also provide information to support initiating the project, ensuring the budgets are feasible, goals and objectives produce realistic schedules and timelines for tasks. Carry out monitoring and control activities to track the progress of the project, identify and manage risks to ensure delivery commitments are maintained implementing any necessary changes throughout the project's execution, to ensure that our client's expectations are delivered. Report regularly to management and the client, including evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learnings.

Key Work Activities

:

This role would ideally suit a candidate with a commercial PM background, ideally with 3 - 5 years project management experienced in managing multifaceted projects taking responsibility for planning, co-ordinating both internal resources and external specialist contractors. Ideally you will have some formal project management qualifications which have enabled you to develop the required commercial skills to be an effective PM.

Management of pre-award phase to ensure from contract award that the business is fully engaged, and all technical / costs / risks / contingencies / mitigations / resources are visible prior to the project's commencement.

Responsible for supporting the establishment and execution of the principals, procedures and working practice templates for projects management.

Ensure project management standards are followed by supporting and audit their adoption and conformance to released standards.

Gather information on projects in a standard format and present this to senior managers on a monthly basis to support Financial, Service and Delivery reporting.

Support the development a centre of excellence in project execution and all employees associated with projects to ensure world class standards are understood and coached into the business environment.

Ensure that the business's commercial standards are adopted within the tender.

Support a business wide resource capacity plan to ensure the business has sufficient resources to support new enquiries and that the resource pools are efficiently utilised across the business.

Identify possible capacity risks and inter team dependencies to ensure project risks are clearly determined at any stage in the project's life cycle.

Ensure project documentation is maintained in accordance with the customers and regulatory body's requirements.

Ensure that a complete lessons learnt process is conducted at the end of each project and that the findings are applied within the business improvement process.

What credential are we ideally looking for

:

Impressive track record and experience from managing Innovate UK projects, working with a diverse group of stakeholders. Experience of working in a SME would be desirable, we are looking for a highly collaborative candidate, familiar with and a keen interest in areas of low carbon energy technology, must be numerate with a strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline and recognised project management qualifications.
