Portsmouth, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Portsmouth Area

45,000 - 60,000 (DOE) + Benefits

Full-time, Onsite | Permanent

Are you a Manufacturing or Project Engineer with strong documentation skills and the confidence to influence cross-functional teams?

This is a brand-new role within a growing aerospace organisation, a position you can genuinely shape and make your own.

We're partnering with a specialist manufacturer of aerospace components, supporting major civil and defence platforms. As part of their expansion, they are looking for a Project / Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys technical problem-solving, building robust engineering documentation, and working closely with design, manufacturing and quality.

The Role

This position offers variety, ownership and visibility. You'll support engineering projects from early concept right through to production, helping to create the processes, documentation and solutions that enable the business to deliver high-quality, compliant products.

Typical responsibilities include:

Working alongside Design, Manufacturing and Quality to support engineering projects

Creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation, including build methods, work instructions, route cards and engineering records

Reviewing and interpreting 2D/3D CAD drawings, models and specifications

Supporting NCR investigations, concessions and rework instructions

Working from first principles to help define processes and components from scratch, not just template-based work

Supporting DFM, tooling requirements and production optimisation

Influencing colleagues and shop-floor teams to adopt improved processes and ways of working

Helping drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency across projects

About You

We're looking for an engineer who combines technical capability with strong communication and documentation discipline.

You may currently be working as:

Manufacturing Engineer

Project Engineer / Project Lead

Production Engineer

NPI / Industrialisation Engineer

To succeed in this role, you'll ideally bring:

Experience within aerospace or a regulated engineering environment

Excellent documentation skills -- able to produce clear instructions, reports and engineering records

Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D CAD data (design capability beneficial but not mandatory)

Confidence influencing stakeholders, including traditional engineers or shop-floor teams

Experience with NCRs, concessions, rework or technical problem-solving

Ability to work from first principles and contribute to the development of new components/processes

Strong communication skills and a proactive, improvement-driven mindset

If you enjoy variety and want a role where you can have real impact across engineering and manufacturing, this will suit you well.

What's on Offer

45,000-60,000 depending on experience

Every other Friday off

Strong pension scheme and benefits package

Career development and a chance to shape a new role

Exposure across engineering, manufacturing and quality in a growing aerospace environment
