The role is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the project's budgets, encompassing all operational activities such as cleaning, repairs, maintenance, and equipment contracts.
Ensuring that fixtures and fittings are maintained in excellent condition, with timely replacements as necessary, is a key priority. The post holder will review and update policies and procedures as required, maintaining and update staffing rota coverage for the project.
Key responsibilities include :
overseeing the management and maintenance of the building in close liaison with the often off-site Housing Team Leader to ensure smooth operations.
The role involves assisting with the resident intake process and liaising with support workers regarding any instances of unreasonable or unacceptable behaviour.
Collaboration with colleagues at Derwent Lodge and RDC is essential to provide consistent cover for annual leave, training, and sickness absences.
The post holder will also support and lead a range of projects aligned with the objectives of Derwent Lodge. Maintaining accurate housing records and databases for residents, including rent accounts, licences, and housing benefit information, is critical. The role requires ensuring risk assessments conducted by support workers are accessible and up-to-date. Monitoring rent accounts, petty cash, and other hostel budgets through comprehensive databases and spreadsheets is also part of the role.
The post holder will work alongside the Team Leader to maintain current records and ensure compliance with North Yorkshire Council contractual obligations by providing timely statistical returns.
Additional duties include:
providing weekly rent account reports to support workers, maintaining the caretaker list which covers IT systems, door entry, phone systems, water testing, and related equipment, and ensuring the CCTV system is fully operational. Coordination with police to provide CCTV footage when necessary forms part of the security responsibilities. The role also involves commissioning reports, conducting research and feasibility studies, and preparing business plans to support project development and continuous improvement initiatives and much more .
