Job Description


This Project Officer role is based within the Economics team in the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Working 15 hours per week, this is a fixed term role until 31st October 2024.

You will support the delivery of the Wage and Employment Dynamics research project, an ESRC-funded project to integrate data from the Office for National Statistics and other government departments, to provide insights into the dynamics of earnings and employment. The research produced from this project will be of direct interest to academic researchers and policy makers across government. Equally importantly, the project aims to create the basis for a sustainable, documented \xe2\x80\x98wage and employment spine\xe2\x80\x99, with high-quality metadata and training for users. This has the potential to fundamentally transform research and policy across a wide range of topics.

This is a project support post which will allow you to gain experience and skills in a research environment. You will take the lead on operational aspects of the project, including communication, web site development, training and stakeholder management.

About you

You will have a range of administration skills gained from working in a complex environment or large organisation, which will include taking minutes and working with confidential information. You will have strong IT skills and experience of using MS Office products on a daily basis as well as the ability to work with complex data base systems and the ability to extract and manipulate data to produce reports. Experience of website development and administration would be helpful.
