L.B. Foster's UK business has operations in Sheffield, London, Nottingham & Telford. The business provides technologybased services and solutions for Telecoms, Fire Management, Automation & Materials Handling, Electrical Wiring & Control Rooms, and Digital Display. We serve a range of blue-chip customers across markets such as Rail, Defence, Retail, Leisure, Manufacturing, Power Generation and Airports.

The Project Quality Engineer, reporting directly to the Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring quality requirements are considered, actioned, and followed through during the process of any given project. This may include the creation of quality and / or test plans whilst operating within the companies Integrated Management System.



Whilst this role will include a level of support to the day to day running of the company's quality department it is expected that the majority of focus is to be on project work across all LB Foster sectors.


Responsibilities Include:





> Ensure that validation plans for products and processes are established and executed, including equipment and test method validations, to meet regulatory and customer requirements.

> Monitor and evaluate project performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary

> Engage with customers and suppliers to clarify quality requirements, support compliance, and address projectspecific quality concerns.

> Contribute to the planning and execution of product and process validation activities

> Validate that products and processes meet customer, company, regulatory, and external standards throughout the project lifecycle

> Lead or support Advanced Product Quality Planning efforts across project phases to ensure quality is embedded from the start

> Create and maintain Project Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans in accordance with the company's Integrated Management System and customer-specific requirements

> Ensure adherence to the Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan by conducting process project audits

> Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Project Management to align quality expectations, resolve issues, and support smooth product introduction


Experience, Education & License Requirements:



> Degree or HND standard, ideally in a Manufacturing or Engineering discipline

> Demonstrable experience in manufacturing

> Continuous Improvement achievements ideally with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience

> Experience with inspection processes


> Able to read engineering drawings
