Project Support Officer - Based in Sheffield City Centre (hybrid)

We are seeking a junior
Project Support Officer
to join our growing consulting delivery team and provide essential support across a high volume of client projects. This role is critical in helping our Project Managers and Practice Leads stay on top of day-to-day project delivery by managing practical tasks, administrative processes, and project documentation. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to apply their organisational and project support skills to a variety of client projects across the public sector. The role offers exposure to project management disciplines and will provide development opportunities for someone looking to grow their career in project coordination or project management.
What will I be doing in this role?
Provide day-to-day project administration support across multiple client projects
Capture and maintain accurate project data and documentation in line with internal processes
Support Project Managers with client and partner correspondence, ensuring timely follow-up
Prepare draft project updates, reports, and packs for review and approval by Project Managers and Practice Leads
Assist with drafting Statements of Work, Work Breakdown Structures, and project plans
Help track project actions, risks, and issues, escalating where necessary
Maintain shared project resources and ensure information is stored correctly
Coordinate internal meetings, circulate agendas, capture minutes, and follow up on actions
Provide ad hoc administrative support to the wider project delivery team
What skills and experience should I be able to demonstrate?
Some previous experience in an administrative, project support, or coordination role (professional services environment desirable but not essential)
Strong organisational skills with critical attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
A quick learner who is proactive and able to pick things up independently
Confident communicator, able to engage with our team at all levels
Practical and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
Professional, reliable, and willing to take ownership and accountability of tasks
Positive and proactive mindset, with a willingness to "roll up sleeves" and get things done
Confident and engaging with a human approach - able to build strong working relationships
Professional and adaptable - comfortable working in a fast-paced client-facing environment.
Eager to learn new skills and grow with the business
Exposure to project management environments, ERP, finance, or technology projects
Exposure / experience with project management tools

You must be eligible to work in the UK on a permanent basis and be based in our Sheffield office for 3 days each week and 2 days remotely (after first 4 weeks of employment).
