About the role




As a Project Technician you will work alongside teams in Network Design & Construction function who are integral to the delivery of our exciting and ambitious upgrades and improvements to our water network. You will also support the delivery of all the existing work streams such new service connection, mains diversions, infrastructure maintenance and the Lead Replacement programme amongst other projects.



The role requires a Project Technician who can lead and drive the timely and safe delivery of activities. You will provide in the field advice, support on Lead activities, work in collaboration with contractors and internal stakeholders. The Project Technician is key to ensuring the smooth and successful delivery of our projects.



You will monitor the quality of the workmanship, ensure compliance with Water Regulations and enforce the high standards expected in the delivery of our new water assets. The Project Technician will initiate the co-ordination planning or interruption to supply processes. You will be responsible for the safe operation of our Networks to ensure all valve operations are carried out in line with our policy. Working with the Water Networks team, to ensure no issues arise once a scheme of work is confirmed.



Key to the role will be ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with risk assessments and method statements and being a visible presence across all our construction sites. Site meetings with contractors and Project Managers as well as customer engagement is required, therefore excellent organisational and communication skills are essential.



There will be an expectation to support and uphold health & safety standards and regulations on all construction activity and ensure contractors are compliant at all times.

About you




As a Project Technician you need to be proactive with a can-do attitude, helping to ensure we deliver the best service across the network. The ability to problem solve and deliver completed works safely and on time is crucial.


Furthermore, excellent customer service is expected, an ability to build relationships with customers, developers, colleagues and key stakeholders is a key element to this role.


Ideally you will have a sound understanding of Oracle Field Services and GIS. Whilst this is desirable, full training would be given to the right candidate. An understanding and appreciation of DMEX would also be desirable.


You must ensure best practice is followed in all construction works impacting the network. Therefore, Water Regulation experience would be advantageous along with knowledge of network design standards and service connection procedures.

Prospective employees and agency workers in defined safety and security critical roles will be required to undertake a drug and alcohol test after the job offer has been made. This will be prior to or within four weeks of their start date.
