Qualification in Education, Health, Social work or Community work - or with considerable experience in this field Experience of working with families is essential.
JOB PURPOSE
As the Families Together group Project Worker, you will be a confident ambassador for Plant Dewi and a strong advocate for the needs of vulnerable, lonely parents, living in isolated communities, who are experiencing poverty. You will develop, promote and facilitate a range of services and activities to support individuals to join and participate in the group in order to reduce isolation by creating friendship networks. You will provide support to build confidence, self-esteem and motivation to increase resilience and develop skills, increase knowledge and increase a sense of belonging.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To be an integral part of the Plant Dewi Team.
To establish and maintain families together groups within targeted areas.
To facilitate a spectrum of activities in line with the ethos and outcomes of families together groups.
To effectively manage the use of resources.
To promote and publicise the groups.
To identify and target families who will benefit from the group.
To communicate effectively with colleagues, partnerships, networks, groups and service providers.
To collate relevant data and provide the evidence for the future direction of the activities
To liaise with the Manager regarding funding applications.
To line manage staff and volunteers.
To understand the perimeters of Plant Dewi's family support service and to signpost to external agencies for specific support.
To monitor and evaluate the activities on a regular basis, ensuring that targets and outcomes are met and the terms and conditions of funding bodies are adhered to.
To provide timely, regular, accurate reports to funders.
To contribute to the Plant Dewi annual report.
To keep up to date with current legislation, policies, strategies and research relating to the practice.
To keep up to date with current practice/plans County/Diocesan wide relating to the practice.
To ensure that the parishes know about the activities on a regular basis and where possible are involved.
To contribute to Diocesan events.
To act as Health and Safety Officer for the groups.
To ensure safeguarding procedures are always followed.
To ensure that all relevant health and safety measures, equal opportunities objectives, and anti discriminatory practices are implemented and adhered to.
To adhere to Plant Dewi's Employee Handbook and all policies and management procedures.
To participate in general office duties, staff meetings, events and activities.
To keep appropriate records and complete appropriate paperwork and follow Plant Dewi procedures.
To consult and co-operate with the line manager, providing regular reports both written and verbal.
To undertake relevant training/development opportunities.
To undertake any other reasonable duties as may be appropriate or as directed by the line manager.
