Welding Engineers has been in business since 1966 and is a major independent door company specialising in the manufacture, installation, repair and maintenance of all types of Industrial Doors and Shutters, Steel Fabrication, Lift Gates and Shutters, Industrial Roofing and Structural Glazing.

Welding Engineers has a strong and varied customer base in industry sectors such as MoD, Railways, Retail and Airports as well as numerous local and national businesses.

We have branches in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, London and Newcastle giving geographic coverage of the UK if required.

Our experienced team of engineers, electricians, roofers and fabricators are all full time employees allowing us to maintain a high quality level of service and workmanship.

We operate an emergency call out service 365 days a year.

Based at our North East office

Reportable to the Branch Manager we are seeking a Projects/ Manager to run our service and repair teams within a busy/fast moving work environment.

The candidate must be able to prioritise their own workload, work under pressure and be able to work well as part of a team to achieve targets and deadlines.

Attention to detail is vital, as is using initiative and having the ability to investigate and solve problems

Customer service experience is essential and must be confident and able to communicate well with people at all levels within the business as well as having a professional approach when speaking to customers and suppliers.

We are looking for a manager able to run his own projects from site survey/quote stage to completion and hand over.

Tasks to include but not be limited to:

Dealing with Clients Ability to produce estimates and quotations from clients' drawings and from site meetings/surveys Understanding structural drawings Experience in Welding and Fabrication Running the fabrication section Producing production drawings Being able to instruct field engineers on works required Knowledge and implementation of BS EN 1090 Conduct site inspections Inclusion in manager call out rota (around 1 in 9)
This is a varied role where two days are seldom the same, working as part of an experienced team within a national company which has been trading since 1966

Salary 36- 42k depending on the candidate's experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 38,000.00-42,000.00 per year
